Frequently asked questions

Common questions about ClearKey and how it works.

General

What is ClearKey?
ClearKey is a property insight platform for Northern Ireland buyers. It helps you track properties you're considering, monitor price changes, understand local market conditions and compare homes side-by-side — all in one place.
Is ClearKey a property portal?
No. ClearKey is a buyer companion, not a portal. Property portals help you find homes. ClearKey helps you decide whether the homes you've found are worth pursuing. It works alongside sites like PropertyPal and PropertyNews, not instead of them.
Is ClearKey free?
Yes. ClearKey is free to use. Create an account to start tracking properties and accessing market intelligence.
Can I use ClearKey anywhere in Northern Ireland?
ClearKey covers property listings and market intelligence across Northern Ireland — Belfast, Lisburn, Bangor, Derry and all NI postcodes.

Data & freshness

How current is the information on ClearKey?
Listing data is updated regularly throughout the day. Market signals and coverage statistics are recalculated on each refresh cycle. That said, there can occasionally be a short delay between a change appearing on a portal and being reflected on ClearKey. For time-sensitive decisions, always verify directly with the estate agent.
Where does ClearKey get its data from?
ClearKey draws on publicly available listing data, licensed geographic and school datasets, and signals derived from monitoring listing activity over time. We don't have a commercial relationship with any estate agent or portal.

Trust & independence

Is ClearKey affiliated with any estate agents or property portals?
No. ClearKey is independently operated and has no commercial relationship with any estate agent, developer, or property portal. We don't earn referral fees or commissions. Our only interest is in giving buyers useful information.
Does ClearKey provide financial or legal advice?
No. ClearKey provides information and context to support your research — it is not a source of financial, legal, or valuation advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making purchasing decisions.

Features

Can I track price changes?
Yes. When you save a property to your watchlist, ClearKey monitors it for you. If the asking price changes, you'll see the movement in your tracked property view and receive an in-app notification.
Can I compare properties?
Yes. ClearKey includes a comparison tool that lets you view multiple properties side-by-side — asking price, days on market, market conditions and price history — making it easier to evaluate homes objectively.
What do "Seller's Market" and "Buyer's Market" mean?
These are market condition labels derived from comparable activity in a postcode area — things like average days on market, price reductions, and sale agreed rates. A Seller's Market suggests demand is outpacing supply in that area. A Buyer's Market suggests the opposite. They're directional signals, not guarantees.
What happens when a property I'm tracking goes sale agreed?
ClearKey will update the property's status and flag it in your tracked list. Properties that go sale agreed are kept in your history so you can refer back to them. If a sale falls through and the property is relisted, ClearKey will detect that too.
Can I get notifications when something changes?
Yes. When you're signed in and tracking a property, ClearKey will notify you in-app when the asking price changes, the status updates, or other significant activity is detected.

Practical

Can I use ClearKey on my phone?
Yes. ClearKey is designed to work on mobile browsers — no app download required.
